SI Tranny With Vin Tag??
I just bought a SI casing and the person i bought it from said it was from a 2000 SI. He showed me a pic of a casing with a vin tag but when i got the casing there was no vin anywhere.
The area that the tag was suppose to be, didnt have those bolts holding any vin tag in place.
My question is what years did the SI casings come with just STICKERS and not the actual Metal Vin tag that was bolted ont he casing?? What year transmission could this be or could this even be a SI tranny??

if they removed the vin tag and yes there should be one if its a 99-00 si, then thats the number one clue that its HOT y0. i would get my money back asap
But there's no sign of the vin tag being bolted on there. It looks like it was just a sticker. I believe some trannys came with just the sticker and not the metal tag. I just want to verify if this is true.

S4C. 99-00 EM1 5 speed.
It should also be stamped into the casing itself, shouldn't it?
I know the vin sticker is still on mine.

its not. Its held on by 2) 8mm Bolts ( I think they're 8's might be a little smaller) They're flatheaded so you cant remove them if you do remove them you'll have threaded holes where they should go. You got a different tranny than what was pictured. try and get your money back.. How much did you pay?
I just realize after looking at a disassembled tranny that this is the upper casing....not the whole casing. This is why there is no vin number. I think I answered my own question. Thanks for all the info everyone!
