How can I tell that a B16 tranny is out of a 99-00 Si?
I'm about to buy this tranny from a guy here in town. I've seen him driving the car, and it seems fine. He now needs cash and I offered to buy it, although it has no vin plate. How else can I verify that it's out of a 99-00 Civic Si?
Thank's in advance.

No vin plate? Unless someone took a grinder to it, then its not from a 99 Si. And if it has been gound off, why?

Ah, I didnt know that. It looks to me like the rivets need a little bit of work to get them off. But then again, I have never taken the vin tags off a tranny either.
