Default NYS OBD2 emissions....swap???

Hi....Im new to this site and have a question that I cant find the answer really to......I live in New York where now we are forced to get the computer plugged in/emissions to pass our inspections on all obd2 cars....I have a 98' Civic ex and I am looking into doin a b series swap....If I do the swap to say a 98' GSR motor, will this fail me due to the running of a gsr ecu......When the inspector plugs the car in it will come back as a GSR & not a civic.....It makes me wanna have a pre-obd2 car so bad with all of this crap..Any input would be greatful...Thanks

as long as its an obd-2 pcm and not throwing codes and both o2's are there you should be fine.

Yeah, i think you should be alright if everything is working correctly, as previously stated. It might depend on where you go. If you have a buddy who can do it for you that would help. Nice to see somebody from the Valley on here....watch out for those ricers....They are gettin outa control (atleast on my side of the river)
