Default Need Help Finding an Odd Part

The rubber fuel filler tube between the steel filler neck and the gas tank is dry rotted, cracked, and leaking on my CRX. I've tried my local Honda dealer, several online Honda parts stores, NAPA, and Carquest and nobody has one of these things. The Honda places say they can order one, but have no idea when I'd get it. Doesn't look like Worldpac has one in their catalog either.

There are only two EFs in my local junkyard, and my fear is that what I'd get off of them wouldn't be any better than what I've got.

Any suggestions?

I just threw one away. Have you tried Majestic Honda or College Hills Honda?

I'm not familiar with the part you're referring to, but what's stopping you from going to a plumbing supply place and making your own hose? I can't see corrosion being a problem, at least as a short term solution. I've been using some regular clear rubber tubing from home depot as a fuel line for an old generator motor for a while now to no ill effect. It pretty much always has gas sitting in or flowing through it, and every time I check it, I'm surprised at how well it's holding up.

I like to use the "right" part whenever possible. It helps maintain reliability and resale value. Nobody that has ever bought anything from me can complain about stuff being half-assed.

That said, if I cant find the right thing in the next week or so I'll use a piece of radiator hose or plumbing tubing as a short fix.

But so far I got nuthin'.

see if you can find a goodyear rubber dealer. They have a pretty extensive application list.

I believe you will find that normal radiator hose won't last. It's like the difference between heater hose and fuel line.

Keith, who has a 1st gen CRX fuel filler hose, or two...
