Default Alignment on Rex

Searched...

Got a variety of answers, what would be a decent setting on the car. (Not worried about tire wear.) The guy we are taking it to says he knows what to set it to, but I am paranoid so I'd rather be certain.

I'd say a good starting point is a bit of toe out up front, like 1/16" and zero in the rear...with a plan to toe the rear in a teeny bit if the car is too squirrelly.

Don't be afraid to play with rear camber as well, it can make a huge difference in how well the car rotates. You don't need pimpy camber adjusters, just shim out the upper control arm mount with a washer under each bolt to reduce camber and loosen the car up.

Can't in stock class.

My bad, I see CRX and automatically think STS2. Sorry! For stock class I'd bet you're going to want some toe out in the rear. When we ran the Civic's in HS we maxed out the rear toe (~1/2"). That may be too much for the shorter wheelbase of the CRX but I'd be willing to bet you'll want to run at least a little to help the car rotate.

I know it would make sense to run STS2... but I gotta learn how to drive the damn thing so I am staying stock in 06. (The method worked well on the Accord, did 25 races in it completely stock and learned a lot.)

I don't think rotation will be a problem, people seem to say the CRX is rather tail happy. Not sure if we'll get alignment done on time, worst case I can start with an OEM set up and start going from there.

Stock is definitely a smart way to go, I spent several years there before ST* came along. Definitely gets rid of a lot of the variables!

you find even with stock suspension it will spin readily if you are on the original rear trailing arm bushings.

Got that right. Mine were torn to shreds on a 74k mile car driven by two retirees since it was new. Snap-oversteer city.

Run 1/8" out front, 1/16" out rear. Anything less and you're a pansy
