i was running a y5 head (vtec-e) uptil now.. then i bought a rebuilt y8 head on ebay... a friend tells me, to make my swap even faster i should put the y8 cam and rocker arms in the y5 head?... is this true? and whats the reasoning behind this?..

 

uhh i doubt this will be compatible as the y5 and the y8 have diffrent versions of vtec....y5 is the HX and y8 is just Vtec.

about the head..well, it looked pretty neat in the pictures.. and i believe the seller el_neives or something is selling another one just like it.. standard rebuilt job... resurfaced to avoid warpage, pressure tested for cracks, new valve seals and a 3 angle valve job.. i do believe 300 $ was a bit steep though...

does a 3 angle valve job do much in terms of performance when it comes to a y8 head?..cause i heard most y8 heads and others already come with a 3 angle valve job from the factory.... *shrugs..

the head is in ny at the moment, friend should be bringing it with him.
