Do you have any harnesses? Its not to hard to swap plugs to get it all right. Id say matching the harness to your chassis would probably be easiest.

I have the original harness for the D16Y7 and I have another harness from what I think is a D16Y8 auto.

It should be a pretty easy conversion on the harness then. Use the one from your chassis, probably the d16y7. The harnesses are probably pretty similar with the exception that the auto trans harness will have a few extra plugs going to the transmission. Its easier to do this with the engine out btw. Start plugging them in and when you reach a plug that doesn't match look for the one on your other harness. Cut off both plugs and color match the wires. If you find that the colors don't match (i had this going from obd1 to obd2) you can usually work it out, looking for power colors, ground colors, etc...While doing this part its a good idea to crimp little male and female ends onto the wires from the harness and on the plug you are matching, that way if you get one wrong you just unplug it and try the next wire. You can see how i worked through the distributor here. I haven't verified the pin information there yet, im still working on getting the rest of the car running...but their might be some useful stuff for you here.

once you get the right wires connected you will want to solder and cover with heat shrink tubing (must put on before solder) or electrcial tape. Sorry don't know how familiar you are with soldering so...
Let me know if you need more specific info, sorry haven't seen the d16y8 harness before but my swap was from the d16y7 so i can probably help identify alot of that stuff...
