I've finally saved enough to take my car to get fine tuned on crome. Currently I'm running the blue box and searching for one of those three ECU's (P06, P72, and P28). For those of you who have heard of the well known "Bubba", I will be taking my car to him to get it tuned.

My questions are...

1)Should I have a problem if i ended up buying a p06 that is chipped to be a p28 and then taking it to Bubba to tune my car?

2) Should I just wait for a P28 for Bubba to chip when I get my car tuned?

3) Should I wait for a P72 ECU and have Bubba tune that ECU.

Regardless of what ECU I choose im sticking with my decision to tune on crome.

P06 is a non-vtec ECU.

If you still have the stock GSR intake manifold and wish to have functional butterflies, get a P72. Otherwise, a P28 will work just as well.

 

p06 + vtec circuitry = P28

if u have a stock gsr IM then use the P72. if not then use any vtec ecu

 

Why bother with converting it unless you already have the ECU, which it sounds like he doesn't.

correct, i was thinking of just buying a nonvtec ECU, the p06, that was chipped, socketed and ready to run vtec and then to get my car tuned on crome with that ECU. Any comments on that decision?

Usually by far the cheapest solution, and performs just as good.

iab curcuitry can also be added to the p06 ecu

 

all of these ecus can pretty much do the same thing, vtec and iab support can be added if needed. i say grab whatever is cheaper and get to tuning.
