tires question: is 225/50/15 too wide on stock gsr rims?
i am about to purchase 4 205/50WR15 Bridgestone Potenza S-03 from tirerack.com
but i just found that the 225/50/15 just cost 10 bucks more each.
so i am wondering if is ok to have such wide tires on??
i have GSR stock rims, and i have sportline springs on.
would the 225 tires gonna cost any problem??
or i should just go with 205/50??
thanks a lot

No way!!!! it is way too wide. 205 on 15's the tires buldge out a littlebit so a 225 would be way too big. just go with sticky 205's and you should be ok with traction. speaking of traction, i think they make a t1-s for a 15 you should look into a t1-s. they grip like Whoa!!!
I mount 225/50/15 Kumho V700s and 225/45/15 Hoosier AS303s on stock ITR wheels (15x6). I assure you the Hoosiers are one of, if not the widest, 225 tires out there.
In conclusion your tires will fit.
EDIT: But for daily driving I'd stick to 205/50/15.

Take a look at tirerack's "spec" section for the tire you're looking at, which will have the rim width range for each size tire (stock = 6" wide).
Personally, 215/50-15 is what I'd go for since the diameter would be almost identical to the stock tires.

Not only would 225/50 be too wide, it would be too large in diameter. Your car would sit higher, your acceleration would suffer, your cruising speed would be faster than what is indicated on the speedometer. Not to mention you would no doubt rub all over the place.
Hey,
I would go for the Bridgestones, I had the SP 9000 and they were great in the rain, but dry traction wasn't that great. Prob not as good as SP 8000 which are much cheaper (I have SP 8000 on my A4).
As for width, that's prob too wide for street tires
, but remember the width of the wheel is very important, and stock GSR wheels are fairly narrow. You have to work within the overall diameter, width for given wheel, and then worry about rubbing too, heh.

Wait, that's too wide. 205/50/15 is the closest match to 195/55/15. Also, back to the 225s, 225s will fit on a stock height Integra, but will require spacers, and will need to be a tire with a very strong sidewall (such as the V700s mentioned above). Of course the V700s are DOT slicks. You should not go higher than 205/50 on the stock rims for the street. If you are lowered, they probably will rub on the fenders.

Not so. Read the "spec" section at the TireRack. Many 215/50-15, if not all, will fit on 6" rims. The diameter is MUCH closer to stock than 205/50s, which you can also find at TireRack.
Main problem would be if the extra width will rub anywhere inside the fenderwell.
