Hey everyone, I was wondering...

I have a chance to get a B18a/b from an integra, and i was wondering which years would be the best for the 88-91 CRX? Are the Automatic B18's any less powerful?

Also, I can get a 96' D16Y8 for about $550 american, with 40k miles, manual tranny engine. Worth it? (has distributor)

 

b18b. you will need a clutch and flywheel. also needed are new flywheel bolts from a manual trans. auto b18bs have the same specs as manual. you will need mounts for b series and an adjustable shift linkage along w/ the teg ecu. you need a crx si or hatch si wireharness. also new axles but i dont remember what year and from what

 

What will it be? Easier wiring or more power? If you want the former, go for the 1990-1991 motors. If you want the later, go for a 1992-1993, or, better yet, a 1994-1995 motor. Better yet, scrap your plans for a B!8A/B18B and go for a B20. You will NOT be disappointed.

 

what ecu can you use for the b20?
and is the gsr tranny (93) a good choice for that setup...thnks

 

don't forget if you're going b18b or b20, you will need the 90-93 integra driver side engine mount bracket and rear tranny mount bracket. those are a couple items that for some reason no one mentions. they're not exactly cheap either out of acura. if the motor is off an auto then you also need a cable 90-93 ls tranny (or b16)... and then if you need the tranny, chances are you'll have to get a starter for it. for b20 u can use a PR4 (90-91 teg) ecu and use 90-91 distrib/alternator. if u go b20 btw be ready to have a big budget...do it right the first time.

B18a would be easiest, plug and play.

automatics have same amount of power and in some cases are nicer because theyve never been really redlined. doesnt mean motor has never been ragged on however.

if your on a tight budget go for this, i would just buy the head though. do a minnie me.

 

what about the wiring, any mod needed to be done (crx si)? or is it the same as the ls.
Also what axles would work w the b20.
