bad axle?
you'll be good to drive but honestly your boot is torn and dirt has gone inside thats why everytime you turn the car clicks. I would just buy a cv boot for $10-15 and replace it myself rather then paying $60-90 for a remanufacture axle when all they do is clean your bearings and add a new boot. Its easy to replace yet extremely greasy but if you dont know what your doing then I suggest just buy a whole new axle.....

Once its clicking, the joint is worn. Autozone axles, lifetime warranty for $60.
There are many axles that will click even if the boot is intact and full of grease. This is because the cv joints are a wear item, they wear over time, especially remanufactured axles.
If you are slammed it puts alot of angle on the joints, causing them to wear at a faster rate also. Worn engine mounts will put extra stress and bad angles on the axles too. Just a heads-up.

Yeah, mine clicks too, but my boot isn't torn. In fact, its a year old axle. I just did one too many 5500 rpm launches, and too many full shifts. I need some stronger ones.
I'd just get a remanned one if I were you. If you don't know what you are doing, then its prolly a good idea to get a remanned one.

Why do that? The axles are still going to go out. You should just buy a new set of axles and not worry about it for the next 60-100k. Rather than pulling the 1 axle out, draining the tranny flluid and replacing the boot. If you just cheange it you do the step once rather than repeating it, it might cost you more in the long run. Just my 2 cents.

100% true, You could just buy a new boot and stuff it full of grease but you are just masking the problem, If you are going to go this route, Take the axles apart. Clean all the bearings, Inspect for metal in the grease and crack bearings. Most of the time the bearings are done and need to be replaced. autozone does not take your old axles and just stuff grease in them and sell them to someone else. That is fasle info. That would be a major liabilty for that company if something happened. They replace the bearings. check the housing, balence the shaft and put it back up for sale. Autozone does not do this themselves. They send them out to anothor company. You can check with your local autozone and they will tell you the same. I am not talking out my *** because a buddy of mine is the manager of autozone in norwalk ca.

Not to slight the Autozone axles, but...another option. I had a 91 DA that was notorious for going through axles quickly. I finally ended up getting some new ones through Raxles ( http://www.raxles.com/ ). They sell only new axles, no regrinds. Super customer service, I think the guys name is Marty maybe? They were $120 a side (no core charge provided you return your old ones in a timely manor....the even provide a free return shipping label). I highly recommend them. After using their axles, my problems went away. Sure, $120 is a lot more expensive then $60 or whatever the autozone ones cost, but to me it was worth it for piece of mind. I have also heard that the grease in the autozone ones isn't that great and Raxles use Amsoil grease and OEM boots. I also autocross my Integra (roughly 10-15 events a year) so I am not easy on them by any means.

I had a bad tranny mount in my dc2, that also caused axle failure. it put excess bind on them and with the car lowered they were stressed. Check thoses to player.

Autozone is good... on the other side, PEP BOYS has a lifetime warranty on axles... something to think about. also if you wanna try to make ur old left one that's clicking last a little longer until you have the $$$, when u make your left turns take 'em half throttle not to keep the axle under stress.
Autozone axles are good? Ive had to replace them twice now. Yes it has lifetime warranty but why would you want to keep replacing it. Check out team-integra.net Theres a thread about the axles.
