yep just replace the whole axle replacing just the boot is pointless if you already have the axle out.

It's easier to just get a new axle + you get a lifetime warranty + cheaper.
Shops will charge you more to replace a cv boot than for replacing a whole new axle. Look at it this way
Take out axle + put in new axle
instead of
Take out axle + take out cv boot + put in new cv boot + put the axle back in.
Make sense?

get a kit from napa or something. cut off the old boot and steel straps pull the cv joint apart...clean out old grease... put new boot back onto shaft add new grease put back together and strap it back down (some kinds of straps need a special tool)\
no need to replace the axle if there still is enough grease still in it. (cv joint still good)
You prob do no need to take axle out of car.

dude just do it your self...its so easy if you got air tools. oh and replace the whole shaft dude...nowadays its not so expensive.
1. jack up cars and place on jackstands
2. remove wheels
3. take cotter pin off...no wait its a honda so undent the hub
4. take 32 bolt off of the axle
5. take lower ball joint bolt out
6. have someone pull the disc assembly away
7. pry where the cv shaft attaches to tranny
8. use a pan to catch the tranny fluid that will come out
9. assembly is reverse of disassembly.

If you have a lot of time to kill, you might save yourself a negligible sum of money by changing the boot, but what a pain in the ***.
New axles.
If dirt etc. has already made it inside the boot, or all the grease has disappeared, the wear on the joint itself is going to cause it to give out sooner or later so save yourself the trouble.

no dont wack it with a hammer, did you loosen the 32mm bolt? if yes then there should be a bolt holding a fork looking thingy onto the lower control arm in the front, take that out and pull the whole disc and **** to the side.

Soak it down with some kind of penetrating oil (Liquid Wrench etc.), let it sit for a bit. The splines get rusty inside the hub, which can be a really really good time.
The deadblow hammer is a good idea.
Even seen the torch brought out once or twice to get things moving.
When you do get that ****** out of there be sure to gently file the rust out of the hub splines and give everything a coat of anti-seize when you reassemble.
