Default si swap

do you think the si swap into a dx body with a mugen chip and a reprogrammed comp would be straight for a daily driver?

Si swap
Mugen chip

If you want power, do a mini-me or a HMT. And if you are gunna use obd-0 get Turbo Edit and not some shitty mugen chip. If obd-1 use crome or uberdata.

mpfi isnt necessary...i have dpfi on my d15 with si head. its smart to have it, but not necessary, so you can still drive while getting that all together

if you want to support more than 120 hp then i would advise towards mpfi, also it will actually rev up.

props to the dpfi tuners though =]

Those generic chips suck..They add to much fuel and timing..

You're better off using a stock PM6..And if you want to tune the ecu then use turboedit like said..

Swapping the head is even less of a necessity seeing how the d15b1 and D15b2 share the same head as the SI. The only difference is the cam. The only way I would swap an SI head is if my current head was toast. Otherwise just swap the cam

Also I would consider MPFI necessary if you want some good power gains out of the engine.

yes, if you want cheap, very cheap power do the si cam. but if you want a lil vtec than do a z6 head and intake mani. i/h/e then spray a 50 shot when you want. not mad style tho, but if you want a cheap decent swap. order a single cam non vtec zc off hmotors, they are like 400 bucks or sumttin. they got a lil higher compression

Maybe not to you, but not everyone can afford to do a b16, or b18, so actually it is worth it, if you can get the parts cheap etc.

Do you guys know how slow a d16a6 civic is?, at first its okay, but when you get used to it you will realize how slow it is. You can put your foot all the way down on the gas and comfortably sit there until redline without feeling anything. A d15 and a d16a6 dont have that much difference in hp, Im not saying this for anyone else on this forum except the guy that wants to swap the motor. Its not worth your time, let alone money, even a b16 swap wouldnt be worth it. Trust me.

This can be said of most any car you'll get used to it and want more hence modding.

Maybe he will be content or even happy with a a6. I love my a6 as a beater motor my lsvtec is a bunch more fun and dear god my LS1 is a blast but all need more power i'm a junkie I know this.

You have the info on an a6 swap get to it and enjoy

if its not enough you know who to ask for help

it all depends on what you want. let him do the a6 and he will want more, so then in the future he will upgrade

well the reason im doing the swap is bec. my d15 feels as if it just wants to give up and i only have a 4 spd in it. so i picked up a d16 w/tranny 5spd for 2 billy's and i already got the mugen chip and a reprogrammed comp. so this is the whole reason for my el cheepo swappy plus i think i would have more fun with it then my d15 90hp motor. Plus im to broke to buy a b16 swap right now, but when i do get enough bills for the b16 ima but another ef body and start my project from there. so anybody got any ideas for me? if anyone has a ef body hit me up wit a price.

blah blah to all the above.
going a6 is not worth it.
but if you already paid for it then do it.
for a DD never do a miniswap unless you have plans for other stuff. It is not as reliable as a straight z6 or even a obd-1 b15b. Slapping heads on a bottom ends is not worth the money unless your building it from the bottom up and doing it for race.

Do it once and do it right
d16z6, reliable, safe, easy swap, and its cheap
just use the Si tranny, keep your std axles, get obd0-1 conversion harness, 4 wire o2 sensor and Do the Dew
i live in SD so i can help you and plus i got a skunk2 cam you can buy off me

just my .02 with some chicken
