CEL codes a 21 usually once or twice a day, once to work and once back. I turn the car off and back on again and it goes away. I haven't cleared (unplugged) my ECU yet so I'll try that at lunch. Solenoid works I gave it 12volts and it switches.
Could this be a trash in the filter therefore not enough oil pressure problem or a half faulty vtec solenoid...etc?
Any help would be great.

no kidding, I just wired in a plug for the vtec oil pressure switch (two wire plug). I'll check the connection/contacts on that (it should be FINE since it's a new plug) as well as on the vtec solenoid and see if there's an issue. Thanks for the input.

ok I have done the following..
checked continuity between ecu and solenoid (there is)
check resistance of solenoid (14-30ohms range) it reads 14.7
changed vtec solenoid to one that reads 18.4ohms
this morning I unplugged the ecu checked the wiring again...funny thing is, now it doesn't throw the code...
anyone else got any ideas...the things I have done are straight out of helms trouble shooting...if it codes again, the last thing I can do is try another ECU...
