Swapping in Vtec F22 in a lx accord...what transmission?
Im planning on swapping in a F22A in place of my f22b non vtec and i was curious to know if there was a change in the EX and LX trannys?
Also what kind of wiring needs to be done to swap that motor in?
Thanks,
Mike

The Transmission/axle issue is more Tranny/Chassis rather than Tranny/Engine if you keep within the F Block Family.
Wiring?
Depending what year your car is
'94 - '95 (OBD1) or
'96 - '97 (OBD2)
If you stay within the same year(s) for your F22a variant, the wiring issues (I believe) will be a) Vtec control solenoid, Knock sensor (none on the F22b2) and I kinda remember something about the egr circuit, but that should be pretty much it. The weird factor goes up when you go from OBD1 to OBD2 or visa-versa.
If you're getting the 22a out of a wreck, scoff the engine Harness, the ecm and the ecm harness along with the engine. You'll save yourself a lot of grief.

i've got a 96, and its a 95 engine.
So your saying the tranny doesnt matter no difference in gearing in the LX and EX? i figured the vtec stuff, and i should already have a knock sensor wired in being obd 2 correct? what kind of trouble am i going to encounter crossing obd 2 to 1? or am i going to need to get an obd 1 ecu and harness or its not even going to work? unfortunetly its not off of a wrecked car so i cant just grab it all its the motor only

Here's a listing of available transmissions which are available on 5th Gens;
1994-1997 Honda Accord DX/LX coupe/sedan manual F22B2 T/Code = P2A5
1st - 3.307 2nd - 1.809 3d - 1.185 4th - 0.903 5th - 0.685 / FD = 4.062 USDM
1994-1997 Honda Accord EX coupe/sedan manual F22B1 T/Code = P2U5
1st - 3.307 2nd - 1.809 3d - 1.185 4th - 0.933 5th - 0.685 / FD = 4.062 USDM
1994-1997 Honda Accord LX/EX wagon manual F22B1/2 T/Code = P2A4
1st - 3.307 2nd - 1.809 3d - 1.185 4th - 0.903 5th - 0.685 / FD = 4.266 USDM
1994-1997 Honda Accord DX/LX/EX sedan automatic F22B1/2 T/Code = MP0A
1st - 2.736 2nd - 1.483 3d - 1.026 4th - 0.674 / FD = 4.133 USDM Made in Japan
1994-1997 Honda Accord DX/LX/EX coupe/sedan automatic F22B1/2 Code = A0YA
1st - 2.736 2nd - 1.483 3d - 1.026 4th - 0.674 / FD = 4.133 USDM
1994-1997 Honda Accord DX/LX/EX wagon automatic F22B1/2 T/Code = A0YA
1st - 2.736 2nd - 1.483 3d - 1.026 4th - 0.674 / FD = 4.285 USDM
As you can see, they all interchange with regards to f engines and Accord Chassis.
You'll either have to change (convert) the engine to OBD2 (Not Likely) or procure the proper ECM and Harness for the OBD1 F22a
The question I have is what happens when your States Inspection Station goes to inspect the car, sets up the emissions tester based on your vin (done automatically by the machine), gets the wrong values and then determines it's OBD1??? What happens then?
