^^^^ That won't do anything for him, Dei alarms have "rapid resume logic" This mean if power is lost and the reconnected the system will recall the stored from memory. The alarm stores its current state to a non-volatile memory. Example, If the car was in valet mode and the battery is disconnected for any reason, when you re-applie the battery it is still going to be in valet. This applies to all states of the alarm. It could be armed and it would do the same. Example, if the alarm is going off and you disconnect the battery. When you connect it back the alarm is still going to go off. What you are going to have to do is to reprogram the controler. And you are going to have to find the valet button. Find the button. If your car is armed. You are going to have to open the door put the key in the ingnition and hold the valet button and turn the the key. This will shut off the alarm. Hopefully the guy did not take advantage of the dei valet button preset. He could of picked a certain number of presses of the valet button to disarm the car.
You can also try this, this might help. Your controler may of fell out of sync with the alarm brain because you removed the battery or it went dead. The brain of your alarm and the controler uses a math formula called algorithm to change their code each time the transmitter is used. Is helps keep people from code hopping. The controler battery goes bad or the controler is pressed to many times out of range. it will fall out of sync and fail to operate the system. Go next to your car and press the lock or arm button several times. make sure you are next to your car. This will re-sync the controler . If not its going to have to be reprogramed.
