I have never had a car worth protecting but now I do and I need some security and peace of mind for when I go to bed at night. I have cash in hand, if you are in this profession send me a pm and we can go from there. I definitely want 1 or 2 kill switches, and maybe an alarm. Im just starting my research so I will know more of what I want down the road but I am always open to suggestions, thanks for the help.

Re: I need someone to install a security system
Get a 2 way paging alarm like the Python 991 or Viper 5901 (same thing). Add sensors like glass break (506T), a tilt sensor (507M), and a backup battery unit (520T) and replace the battery with a better one. Connect all on board triggers like door, trunk, and hood. I implemented kill switches to various components independent of the alarm. Going to be adding a clutch lock as well. It's all about the layers; you can't stop thieves but you can slow them down. I'd recommend any GPS solution as well.

What year make and model car do you own?

Re: I need someone to install a security system
Here's a rough price breakdown

Alarm unit - $200-250 (ebay), $350-500 (Authorized DEI dealer)
Sensors/Backup battery - $10-30 each (ebay), $20-75+ (Authorized DEI dealer)
Installation - $250+

Ebay prices may seem very attractive but there are many cons going this route. Keep in mind that even if you buy from an authorized dealer, you must have them install it as well otherwise your warranty is void. Many people have reported dead alarm brains, or they just don't work as intended. You've been warned.

I've personally purchased all of the mentioned parts on ebay and installed them myself. They haven't let me down just yet. I guess I'm one of the few lucky ones out there. It is very time consuming depending on what you want done and where you want to install everything. It's important that you keep your car secure, and very important that you keep your security components secure as well. In other words, you want a "stealth" installation of the alarm and it's accessories. This involves taking apart interior panels and the like which can greatly increase installation costs but it's all worth it.

In the end, expect to pay close to $1,000 for really good installation through an authorized dealer. If you attempt this yourself, you can PM me for install tips. I just got done with a Python 991 in my 1997 civic. Again, you will NOT have a warranty on any parts or labor but it will be less expensive. Start asking your local shops and verify that they are authorized.
