momentary fuel pump kill switch?? help me out
im looking to set up a kill switch in my car, but would like to use a momentary switch. im under the assumption this can be done correctly by using a relay? pretty much just want to have to hold the button down in conjuction with turning the car on in order for it to start, while then letting off of the momentary switch.
thanks everyone

</TD></TR></TABLE> Something like this....... http://www.the12volt.com/relays/page2.asp#psk can be used for anything that needs constant power for car to run.

BTW not really needed for starter cut.
thanks everyone

that is way confusing, I think I will just use a relay and a hidden switch for mine, and the same for the starter, only in a different spot.

For starter cut a relay has to be used, [on most cars because of the higher current needed] but you only need a momentary .5A switch to trigger the relay while starting car, unlike any other "cut/kill" circuit the relay on a starter cut only has to be closed during starting, all other "cut/kill" relays have to stay closed while motor is running.
And if you want a "passive" system. [one that arms without you doing anything but turning the ign. off] and it is anything but starter kill, you will need a "latching" relay or use 2 single pole relays SPST, [yehiknowrite] or SPDT, or you can use another common relay used in car audio, [on demo boards] a 4PDT, you need one pole to open the circuit you are "disabling" and one more pole to latch, [keep the relays on] the relays.
