I have had this problem for a month now. I try to turn the car over and no sound at all. Wait a minute or two and start it again, sometimes it works but sometimes it doesn't. Now, my car has niot even started for a few days now. It will compression start just fine. All the things work on ignition switch but no sound under the hood. I know it's not my grounds, I have 1/0 ga ground everywhere for car audio. I heard about tryin to touhc a wire on the starter from battery, is it the smaller wire with female connector on it? Thanks for any help guys.

 

sounds like your not getting proper voltage to the starter check batt. terminals for looseness if at all loose they will cause that problem. also check the posative and ground wire at the starter for looseness. If those are good you could have a starter solenoid going bad and will have to get a new starter. you should check voltage drop from starter before condemning it though. go to a mechanic who knows how if you cant...

 

if they're fine run a check for your electric system. If that still doesnt help then hit your starter as many times as u can before starting it. If you hear any sounds then it's your starter that is damaged.

hit it with hammer or prybar while someone turns key and tries to start it. thats because the electrical brushes inside starter motor are worn and are sticking. but usually you would hear the relay klicking so i figured its not getting power check relay...

 

I have a similar issue. Could you tell me how to identify whether a Denso or a Mitsuba starter? Also, I usually use Majestic, but if there is a preferred sponsor here for oem parts.
