Mini-me problems/questions
I have a 95 dx engine with a z6 head on it, I have been driving it for some time. I am using a z6 dist. (not that it matters). My question is why are you supposed to remove the jet that is at the back of the block between 2-3 (cyl) and wouldnt you get a Check eng. lt. if you left it in during the head swap? I have no codes but some other issues that I am starting to check into. Would an oil preassure check at the vtec psi switch show wheter or not it is in there, I dont remember if I took it out or not, i dont remember! I have tools and knowledge to check all this crap, just wondering what you think? Vehicle fails emmisions high on HC just marginally for some unknown reason? maybe the valve timing with this swap dosnt match up just right.... i dunno.
for those hc readings for emissions I went to firestone tire store and they have a fuel system tune up. that they do they clean your throttle plate put injector cleaner in gas tank and run a intake cleaner through intake vacum like an IV that cleanse plenum and valves out. that droped my hydrocarbons down from 375 to 122. in my gsr eg. it should drop yours lower than that...

honestly I used to work there so the lead tech just did it for me shouldn't be too much though it really does work.

I am an acura tech, so yeah induction service comes to mind, I have a feeling its more than that, although that is an easy thing to try and no biggie. I was more wondering if the swap inherintly has emmisions problems, and as far as vtec working, I was just looking for short cuts to see, I can do an oil prs test and see if it jacks up under load....hrmn

Im not sure initially what your question is, but you need a head, distributor, wires, plugs, head gasket, possibly intake gasket, t-belt, probably some other bs stuff too, oh yeah, apparently dont forget to remove the oil jet in the block....
yes the jet has to come out and the timing will be off a half tooth or something like that a adjustable cam gear will fix that im also having problems with the car bogging down in low rpm's and yesterday it started to spit and spudder real bad for a few secnds while in low rpm range any help on my isseus
