Default Have a choice to make... mini-me or z6? (I'll explain)

So i been ranting and raving for two weeks about a mini me swap i dropped in my hatch.
I bought the swap preassembled from a local kid that got it as is from a junk yard. (oddly enough)
Since then i have had nothing but problems, for example 20mpg, replacing various gaskets, poor performance, etc. And the big thing has been my vtec... I have vtec wired and for a week I been wondering why it hasnt been engaging even after i have double checked everything, swapped solenoids, etc. Come to find out today that you must pull an oil jet out of the top of the block before bolting the head down for vtec to work. I am pretty sure that this is the problem.. Not to add motor is still not performing the best and is using a dx tranny. Should i go through the trouble to remove the head and pull the oil jet, continue fixing the bugs or should I buy a complete Z6 swap tranny and all off my friend for 300 bucks and swap that in?
I usually dont start a "what would you do" thread, but seriously dont know which way to go.

Be nice to drop in a b series but i dont have the cash right now for that.

I dont know why you are having so many problems :S I did a mini-me myself d16y7/8 with the DX tranny and it runs perfectly fine. If you have the right ECU and wire vtec right that should be it, I did no other modifications. My mini-me atleast is faster then a z6 and I beat a few b16 with I/H/E.

Because i bought someone elses mess and i didnt know it. Ive done many swaps but never had problems like this, i wanna just yank it out and start over sometimes....
Keep in mind i nor my friend built the motor, so i have no idea what all they did when it was assembled.

Buy the complete Z6 swap, hands down best option unless theres something seriously wrong with it. Especially where it comes with the tranny.
