well, the k20's are going for around 5-6k, plus shipping, plus mounts, plus harness, plus fab work, plus labor and time. i think if you got a good deal on a motor and did it all your self you could do it for 8g's

Well, I probably spent close to $5K in parts to do the swap into my 94 CX. That's not including the cost of motor/tranny/ecu since I already had those from my wrecked RSX-S. Include another $3K for my running-with-D15-at-the-time Civic, and that's about 8 grand not including what it might take to get the engine/tranny/ecu from a suitable donor.

As far as what parts you might need to get it done, check out http://www.k20a.org

Really depends how much you get the motor for and which type you get. Also assuming when you buy the swap, its a complete swap with shifter cables, axles etc...

TypeS swap ranges from 3300-3500.
TypeR swap ranges from 4500-5500.
You can run the stock ECU if you wire in the multiplexer and all that jazz.
otherwise, kPro = $850-900

Mounts = ~$650
Conversion Harness = ~$350
Header = $400-$1000+
Fuel Lines/Fittings = $150-$250
Fuel Rail = $120
Universal FPR = ~$150

The other big factor is whether or not you do it yourself or you pay a shop to do it. Obviously, DIY is going to save you a TON of money.

You have to weld in the mount, clearance the rear crossmember, clearance the front crossmember or buy a traction bar ($350-$450).

so total price begins around ~$5500+

Now, I know that this price can grow tremendously if you decide to build the motor, more high end parts etc etc etc. And it can go down if you get a great deal on a motor.

I hope that this helps. Also, go to k20a.org, there is a TON of information there regarding this very same question.
