motor gone?

Default motor gone?

ok here it is. My car started acting up the other month and havent had time to take a goo dlook at it.. it has a sputter to it but still has power.. no stalling and it back fires every once in a while.. it also has like oil or something balck coming out of the exhuast,.. but anything in the ball park it could be..

if it is the motor got another question.

how hard is it for the wiring for a d16a6 what all will i need to make it work in my std?

sounds like you just have 1or2 spark plugs that arent firing,thats why its backfiring and thats also the black smoke,check your plugs,make sure there all firing,if the plugs are good check the wires,cap,rotor.

new cap rotor and dizzy, never changedthe wires tho, its not black smoke its like a liquid shooting out, like blak carbon deposits. lets see if i can explain a lil better. it has a shake to it also like timing off. what else could it be. o yeah and brand new plugs

check timing and check for small vacume leaks.

vacum leaks where to check .. alreadu checked timing but still nothing.. how else could i c if timing is wrong but i thought the dizzy ony goes in one way... im lost.. i was told could be te rings?

check your intake mani for leaks.if you think its your piston rings you'll have to do a leak down test to know for sure.and yes the dizzy only go's in one way,just make sure to use a timing light to check it,and make sure your timing marks are correct,white mark on the crank pulley is tdc and your cam gear has two marks on each side and one that says up,there is also a indicator on the lower cover for the crank pulley.

ok thanks for all the help but got a few more questions, i can get a d16a6 for 100 bucks but the thing is can i use the dpfi for a little bit till i get more molaa to get the ecu.. or will not work

if you use all the dpfi(intake mani) it should work fine.to finish the mpfi swap theres more to it than just the ecu but its an easy swap.
