Default H2B Adapter Plate?

Hey guys/girls,

I've recently found out about being able to fit a B18C tranny to an H22 using an H2B adapter plate.

My question is, what's envolved in the swap other than the adapter plate? And what are the pros/cons of doing this?

Keep in mind I'd like this process to be performed on my 4th gen Turbo H22 Prelude.

Any information would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

you should be able to search this....

you need a flywheel, clutch, shift linkage, tranny & axles

I don't understand why you would do this it's an inferior transmission. If you say stronger I'll slap you! If you say better aftermarket support I'll slap you again. I can't possibly think of a reason to do this. Not that I know anything but WTH?

ah negative nancy! you are correct you- dont know anything about this....the h2b allows better alignment of the drivetrain..drive a h22 civic or integ and youll see and feel why...and we all know how finiky those h22 trannies are and how pricey they are

So it's for in a Civic? I understand fully then but I though it was in a Prelude in which case I would slap you in the back of the head. Carry on then as you were and all that good stuff. I totally agree in a Civic or Integra but I would still use the H22 tranny just because it a cable shifted tranny and it feels so nice.

You were scaring me for a minute there brother/sister or what ever you are. I would still be a dick and Use the Hdouble duece tranny though. I done three of those swaps and all the aftermarket motor mounts need a bit of massaging to get really cherry alignment.

Alright, so I take it this isn't a wise process to do on a prelude then? I was under the assumption that the gear ratio was better on a type-r tranny compared to an H22 tranny, that and the final drive would be longer.

Am I totally wrong in assuming this?

Thanks again!

Just to clarify, this kit was not designed for preludes. In a prelude chassis it would require custom mounts, axles and shift linkage.

brothers racing, and the type R final drive is SHORTER, for faster acceleration. whole lot of misinformation in this thread. and yes, this is for hybrids, not for preludes.

plus, it's 900 bucks
