So im buying a new car soon..
I made a similar post in the CRX forum, im undecided as of yet what to get.
Ive been looking at the 94-96 accords. Wanted to know what to look for when purchasing one and are their any problem areas or things to checked if they've been replaced or not? This will be my first car so im trying to find a balance between something a i can afford and something I will actually enjoy having.

Well if you plann on hauling all your friends out with you cruising then a accord would be a good reliable choice. But if you want to go fast and just have one maybe two buddies out with you get the Rex.I wish I had a crx,but I have two accords.Hey why don't you by the crx and then trade me straight up for my 92 accord lx.I just did a 5spd swap on it.And the ac works!???
hahaha
lol very funny
Ive never actually been in the back seat of a CRX before. Can you actually get two ppl back there lol....doesnt look like it from pics but what do I know. Yea, the whole bringing friends along thing is sort of a factor in this. Thats what made me consider the hatch over the rex...that and i like how the hatch looks better.

As ive done more research i realized the V6 one doesnt come with manual but it doesnt indeed have more power. How much do Auto to manual conversions cost? Sounds like a lot. Might just settle with the I4 EX with the stick. I dont think its too serious for 25 hp.
the 95 and the 96 are styled different correct? I notice a small price difference between them as well.
also, are 5th generation accords engine swap friendly? I know about the OBDB 1 and 2 and how 96+ have it inside the cat converter...wait 96's have it inside right?

Yes 5th gens and other gens are swap friendly, u can swap other accord engines, and prelude engines (im not sure the year ranges) a very popular swap is a H22 into a 5th gen accord (which has a f22b2 , but the ex has a f22b1 i belive)
i belive the 96 plus do have the obdb1 and 2 sensiors in the cat.

96 and late model 95 have the OBd2 systems. Well Accord is nice and roomy while a CRX is small and yea you get my point. The chances of you living in an accident are greater in an Accord =P. Anyway its up to you man your choice. Id say get an Accord.
accord, great for cruising with friends, i do it every weekend with my friends and not a problem yet. i own a 92 accord 5 spd, bad *** car except if you are trying to race, kinda slow but it will do until i swap an h22 into it.
as for a crx, i don't know if they come with back seats, im pretty sure you have to buy the back seats. my friend owns an 89 crx and his doesn't have back seats, oh and that crx can't beat my Ac, raced him twice, owned him twice. both cars are stick.

i just bought a 96 accord ex about 2 months ago and its great. before that, i had (actually i still have for sale) a 1990 civic hatch. before the civic i had a 92 accord. all of them were 5spd and all of them were and are great. the civic was a little slow (to say the least) with the 1.5l motor. The new accord is great tho. i just finished puttin on a new set of axxis pads about an hour ago, so maybe its time for me to go break them in. good luck with ur choice.
Thats dope man. I just got done reading about the H22 engine swap and was quickly reminded I know crap about the parts of the car and modding them. Which sucks for me because Id have to pay a shop to do it. Not a big deal I guess I gfuess Id just have to figure out where to go. right now its looking like a 95 accord right now.
