So im buying a new car soon..
It will be a first one. At first I wanted a 94-96 teg gsr but that is out of my price range so im being realistic now. I was looking at 91 CRX SI's and these..

What years were this hatchbacks made from?
My questions are:
1. Is their anything to look for when looking at these cars or things that should be replaced? Problem areas or things that need replacing overtime?
2.Does mileage matter?

That body style is 88-91 civic hatch..That exact car looks to be a 90-91 civic si..
Look for rust everywhere,,these cars love to rust,,check 1/4 panels, rocker panels, jacking points, under tailights,everywhere..As long as the car has had the proper maintence and the owner doesnt drive like a madman the mileage doesnt matter..Honda motors can go forever

thanks for the reply. Do you think that rust would be a big issue down here since it doesnt snow?
Just curious.. I will check regardless and try to bring a mechanic along with me if I find a car I want.
On a side note, what is the difference between a SI and a SIR?

Well alot of florida cars rust too because it rains so damn much, and its always damp, and the salt eats everything if the cars are by the ocean..
SIR civic and crx is a j-spec car,,came stock with dohc vtec b16a,right hand drive,4 wheel disc brakes,They had some kind of abs, power windows, nice seats,etc....You're not gonna find one of those in USA unless someone imported it over here or whatever..

some people that sell the cars will sometimes put SiR on them with a sticker, also they'll write that in the ad, even if it's just a DX or Si model, sometimes because all the did was do a motor swap for a B16A, so watch out for that! lol

I hate that so much..And then some of people that buy those cars arent really smart when it comes to honda/acura and they go around saying they bought a SIR..

It's hard to believe that's a 90-91. The side moldings are from 88-91. but the bumpers are 90-91. we'll never know...

Not that it matters but the hatch above is a 90-91. It has full late style moldings, it's just the picture that makes them look weird. You can tell because the fender mounted turn signals have no screw holes in them, those years were clip style.
