Default AEM EMS

Hey,

I am wondering can the AEM unit increase the rev limit?

Thanks,

The AEM EMS completely replaces your stock ECU therefore every aspect of the stock ECU goes out the door. So yes.

Definatly on my list of "wants", I've heard horror stories about tunning them... any of you guys have experience with them? There is someone that tunes them about an hour from me, but I'm a hands on kinda guy.

You can modify everything, do boost control, 2 step rev limiters, knock control, WBO2, anti-lag, nitrous, water injection, etc.

I have tuned mine myself from start to finish. It's not difficult IMO, but there are a LOT of bad shops out there. 90% of the tuning shops are better at blowing up motors than tuning them properly. If you're interested in doing it yourself, I would highly recommend reading as much as you can about engines, tuning, the AEM EMS, and any other related topics. Also, the EFI 101 and AFI advanced courses will help.

HorsepowerFreaks and TroqueFreaks are great, reputable guys. I've bought a lot of my parts from them.

the thing with the aem, besides having bugs, it really comes down to who tunes it.

you can make it way more complicated than it really is if you start messing around with the software.

so many cars i tune, the owners get curious and are tempted to screw around with the calibration file, when all it takes is one tiny change and the car wont even run...

in simple terms from what i have learned, its like making the car backfire and playing with the timing...
