Does a new turbo smoke?

I just got my new turbo in the mail today and i installed it and there is smoke coming out of the water inlet side.. and i was wondering is the normar or is somthing wrong.
No my return line is not kinded
no oil in charging piping ect brand new turbo.. iam only using oil cooled on it .. so should i just plug the water in/out holes or what...

Well i guess ill just play it safe and get fittings so i can water cool... thank bro maybe that will fix the prob after all..

gotta make sure your inlet is right on top and the outlet is directly on bottom since it uses a gravity drain. if its not the oil presure is pretty high in a honda and the oil will push itseld through the seals
and one more thing when you drilled the oil pan did you place the hole high enough? if its too low the oil won't drain fast enough and get backed up and the oil will once again force itself through the seals
