do all 1990 hatchs do rev this high?
i was letting the car warm up cuz i cant drive it yet, and i was givin it some gas. i punched it and the rpm's went up to 7500 without fuel cut (we have fuel cut right?) lol and the only reason it stopped at 75 was cuz it couldnt go any higher. i put it in gear and it still went to 7500. is my car chipped? or does all of them do this. thanks. oh yes, i guess i should tell you i have fully stock d15b2 right now, just air intake.

i dont know wut kind of answer that is... yes or no answer the fukin question or dont leave a comment at all. hard to learn about the car i've owned for 2 MONTHS when ppl arent straight up
In a '90 and '91 Si both with stock ECUs and stock D16A6 motors, both spun to an indicated 7500rpm before hitting the revlimiter. As I understand the tachs are just inaccurate at high rpm, and the actual revlimit cuts in around 7100-7200.
i have a SI tach on my STD hatch and the tach said i was at about 7400-7500 i dunno if that inaccurate or not but i was still confused when i saw that lol.

He means that chipping is impossible on the d15b2. Of course he's wrong, since I've chipped mine. But whatev. I'd say the tach is just way off.

the stock tach blows *****. they are pretty inaccurate. im sure your werent revving the motor to 7500, it would probably float a valve on that POS motor. we could barely hit the rev limiter in my friends STD hatch while free revving it let alone getting it to rev to 7500.
