do a compression and leak down test on your motor. if its smoking in the upper RPMS then its problly gonna be ur rings. Does it smoke on start up at all?? mine does and also smokes high in RPMS, some smoke on start up usally means valve seals

Why not? I am. Almost 4 quarts of oil for a 3k trip is way too much imo. Almost a full oil change. Sometimes I wish I could see some blue smoke or a leak so at least I would have somewhere to start.

thats the same problem with my gsr. people have told me it blows out a blueish smoke when i get on it and i have to add about a quart a week or more. i havnt gotten a comp. test yet but i heard that will be your best bet on telling where the problem is coming from.
My first GSR use to go through about 1 qt every 1k. I thought all GSR's burn a little, until I picked up another. My new GSR doesn't burn any oil whatsoever. Stays on the top line after 3K.
Mine burns If i get on it alot but i dont have to top it off. I just notice it lower on the dipstick, but not below the fill line. I change my oil around every 2500miles though.
Now that i think of it, I did use full synthetic one time and it burned alot more than usual. I switched back to castrol gtx and its been smooth riding ever since.

my gsr doesnt burn any oil, and i use mobil 1. i changed my oil after ~4k miles and it was still right below the top mark.

Found my problem while changing my clutch. Mines leaking most not really burning
The owner before me was an older man and took my gsr to the Honda dealership everytime there was any issue and for every oil change.. I have receipts of this.
A honda mechanic must have taken the oil pan off or some reason and when he put it back on he put honda-bond all around the oil pan instead of just the corners like you're supposed to, this caused the oil pan bolts to not be as tight as they could be because of the hondabond.
My exhaust gasket, that connects the header to the cat also was blown. it was like caved in, may have caused me to run a litte rich causing the black on my bumper.
Another common leak is around the vtec solenoid where it connects to the head. Mine is slightly leaking from there but nothing to be remotely worried about. I usually only notice a drop come down when i jack up my car.

burning blueish smoke is most likely to be ur head gasket leaking cooling to ur oil.. and from smoking when ur drive hard on it.. is more than likely to be ur ring.. cuz it happen to my gsr before....
piston rings.........90% of the time its the rings......very rare is it valve seals when it blows that much smoke and goes through that much oil.....
