Going To Get Civic For First Car
I will be getting my licen. on Apr 11 so I will be getting my first car then. I choose a Civic because of the reliability and how cheap they are. I was wanting a few questions answered. If anyone has AIM please IM me my SN is Skaterdust12. I was wondering if there was a certain year or model Civic that would be better for me than the other. Also is there anything I should do to the car when I get it like to restore the Hp and stuff like that. I was wondering what is the differance between an EK and EG? I dont know these terms. Thanks

search for best results but i'll get you started......
eg = chassis code most commonly used for '92-95 civics
ek = chassis code most commonly used for '96-00 civics
as for what would be better for you is totally your choice depending on how much you want to spend and what options (power windows, power locks, a/c, sunroof, etc.) are important to you.

My budget is around $6k. Also I was wondering if I put in a B18c1 (GSR motor) into the civic I get will the headers and stuff from the Civic fit it? Are the 2 engines almost fully compatible?

No they aren't.
The B18C1 motor and the d-series motor that comes in a stock civic are two totally different engines. Headers and that sort of thing won't swap right over, but thats okay because 99% of the time when you buy a swap, exhaust manifold and all other necessary stuff is included.
Good Luck and enjoy, man

go with the newest/lowest mile coupe or hb (hatchback) you can find..in ur price range..and..make sure its not modded..not even an aftermarket intake..from my experence..cars with just intakes..are the cars that are most beat to **** cars so try and find a bone stock..preferably 1 an old lady drives or somthing..those are always the best
i have a 95 civic CX hb..i love it...havent had a problem yet.
good luck..pce

it would probably better if you can just buy a civic with GSR swap in already.
For $6k you can find some nice civic with all the nicest stuff done to it.
Dont believe me, just look in the classified forum

i got a 96 cx and it is very reliable and it was only 3 grand that would leave you a lot of money to mod or buy another car. A DD and a race car
I got a new car im turning 15 in march i got a civic hatch with 5 lug conversion 2000 integra front clip conversin with lexis taillights if you wanna see pix look under Robs_B18C and look for 1 its gold with lots of carbon fiber
you shuold ask yourself a few questions first. how much you have now and how much you want to invest into that machine. how much work you yourself want to put into it. body style you like? type a model you like. EF, EG, EK. its more on preference cx, dx, vx, hx, si? little stuff like that. what im saying do some research and take some time looking because your the one thats going to be driving it. i recently picked up a 92 civic si for 2k it was running like crap but i did a major tune up and it runs really well now. the car currently awaits a built b16, thats the only plan so far and give it a nice clean stock look. so i hope this gives you and ideal on what to do with your car.
