Default Switches, gages, pods, vafc ...

so its winter here and there is a hell of alot of snow...actually not bad but whatever..the lude is in the garage and ive decided to do a little bit of inside "re-modeling"
and i need some advice from the pro's...

my lude is a 5th gen...

i have a vafc, and its installed sorta right in from of the shifter, where the plastic ends and carpet biggings, i like it there..but i was thinking of putting it somewhere else....i can't really reach the power outlet cuz of it...but i can't seem to figure out were to put it...

also a little bit of nitrous is going in...and im trying to find a nice spot for the switches...but again...i have no idea where i should put them...im sorta worried cuz i dont wanna drill a hole, install and then regret....

and then i might have a gauge or 2 but i don't wanna put them where they always are...

so there help me with my re modeling please

thanks

when i owned a crap *** vafc i mounted it right on top of the dash cocked facing me with the wire running down into the gauge cluster. i drilled a hole for my nitrous switch into the console overlay like 2-3 inches away from the cigarette lighter. It looked tite as hell. Now im about to buy hondata s300 and install my nitrous into my cruise control button.

just get a piece of abs plastic and make a panel below the radio... here is a pic of mine when i had n2o

and for the vafc i put mine (avcr) where the cup holder was I made a custom panel and covered it in vinyl it looks nice. I'll get a pic of when i get a chance.

^^^^^ hey turbolude97, what did you use to make that lower panel under the cruise control, sunroof, and dimmer control? i have wanted to put some switches there but couldn't figure out how to make a surface to mount things onto.

as for my VAFC, i have it mounted in the glove box. its mounted on the brackets above the actual compartment and rigged so that when you open the glove box it swings down into view. i hid it up there because my last one i had mounted in my center console was stolen. i hate thieves!

that's the switch panel.. To make it you just go to Circuit City or Best Buy and get (ummm not sure of the actual name) but the piece they put in when there is no radio. Then you cut the clips off the back, and cut the bottom to fit the opening (it should cover the entire opening. Then drill 5 or 6 small holes through the cover and the pocket and screw it on. You will need to keep the pocket below the radio for this to work but you can just drill a whole in the back of it for the wires. (you can paint the screws black like I did but you will have to touch them up every time you take them out and put them back in because the paint will chip.)
