I have the N1, and I like it a lot. Its loud enough, but if you want it quiet, the silencer works pretty well too. And its got good gains. Here's some pics

You'll have to open a new browser and copy and paste it http://www.automotiveforums.com/img....282exhaust.jpg

I have the Racing Medalion. I love it! The sound is loud and deep. With the silencer in it sounds almost like stock. It's also beautiful looking. I felt high-end gains.

if you like deep sounds, low runbling get the evo, if you like a loud bang when hitting vtec get the N1 or racing medallion. my friends got the racing medallion on his and its about a 2- 3 degree angle . not bad looking but sounds like a trumpet at high rpms , louder then my EVO

The RM doesn't sound ricey at all. It's deep, but at the same time, very loud. My friends say it sounds mean. No matter what exhaust you choose to buy, as long as it's a full cat-back system, it won't sound ricey. Most of the time you get the ricey sound if you just buy a universal muffler or punch a hole in your muffler.

A guy around here has an N1 on his 5th Gen. I think it's the worst sounding exhaust i've ever heard. Even on GS-T's the N1's just dont have a nice tone. If your on a budget I personally like the Greddy Evo. It's a well made exhaust that has a nice sound to it. A friend of mine has one on his JRSC prelude, and even on my other car (civic si) the evo sounds great. If money isn't to much of an issue go with the Mugen. It sounds incredible but not loud at all. I have a dyno of mugen cat-back and headers putting almost 20HP to the wheels on an otherwise stock 5th gen. I can send.

my friend just changed his exhaust from Evo to Racing Medallion ... no contest!! .. Racing Medallion is better ... but more $$$ ... and the new Racing Medallion is stainless steel too!!! ... whereas the Evo isn't stainless in the middle ... i also have friends with N1, and i think the Racing Medallion is even louder than N1 ... as for Mugen, i haven't seen it before, but i've heard good things about it ... the loop is supposed to give you more torque ... it's up to u man, but make sure you do the research b4 u buy!! ... don't wanna regret your purchase a months later

As you can see from this dyno, the Mugen exhaust makes more horsepower and torque all the way across the RPM range. This dyno is sorta scewed in the fact that the Tanabe was done with 18inch wheels. Even so this still gives you an idea of how nice the mugen exhaust/header combo is. But like i said earlier, greddy evo is a close second due to sound/power/dollar ratio.
