Tons of people have them. Basically you take a B16A swap and just put a B20B bottom end. No big deal.

12:1 compression, it would be the same as running it on a 1.8 or 1.6, just needs higher octane gas and better valve train.

As for spray, that's not my thing but I'm assuming as much as a 1.8L would take.

I'm thinking about dropping a b20 block in my hatch as well. I'd like to bore it out to 2.1 liters and raise the compression. What other types of mods will I need to do if I'm shooting for 200+ whp?

THe only thing you really have to do to the block is get higher compression pistons and get some arp rod bolts.

Focus on the head for real power..Porting,good cams and valvetrain, good intake manifold, and bigger throttle body, good header,,and good tuning..You have to match everything to each other to get proper power and responce..Don't just buy a bunch of parts and put them on like so many others..

What would you suggest? If I were aiming for 225whp what should I buy?

Wow,,225hp b20vtec,,thats a huge difference from 200....? I dont know you're gonna have to research that..Theres a guy on these boards that hit 230whp and he revs to 10,000rpm..But its sleeved with forged internals and has fully built head..Also rusty shackorfled (sp) has a nice setup with vtec killers and itb's...

But I hit 200whp with my lsvtec a while back..The setup was--

-B18a block
-arp rod bolts
-itr pistons
-Gsr oil and water pump
-90 B16a pr3 head
-Lots of porting (Spent hours with a die-grinder)
-Head was milled a bit
-Civic typer cams
-Integra typer valves,springs,retainers,and LMA's
-Edelbrock victor-x intake manifold
-68mm overborde throttle body
-Megan racing 4-1 header

It made 199whp..129tq..The cams and header held back the power obviously..And we used a vafc with fpr,,So with something like turboedit,jun3 cams, and a real header numbers would have been good..But I ran out of $$$$..Using the integra-r intake manifold and throttle body the hp was around 190whp..

whatever you do get arp rod bolts...and it never hurts to have the bottom end balanced...i dont know what a b20's redline is but i usually have my b18's balanced to around 12-13k

Straight up..

I really want to stay all motor but I want to make some serious power out of the motor. What kind of hp (assuming perfect driving skills) will get an EF hatch into the 12s?

Also, won't it be easier to come out with higher horsepower since I'm starting with a higher displacement block?
