Default where the hell can you find just a muffler?

Ive looked in junk yards more times than I can count, I check ebay way too often and find nothing. I post WTBs on many forums and search the for sale adds. I cannot find a nice muffler anywhere for the life of me. How do people do it??

well actually my freind has one on his dx. He did the mpfi swap + bolt-ons and his car has no rasp or even a hint of buzz. Thats what I want..bc right now I have a yonaka exhaust and its made well but the muffler is terrible..since theyre the same style i figure i can swap them pretty easily. My car has a d16a vtec..so i understand it will be slightly buzzy but..my freinds tanabe is very quiet to me i gotta say

Try searching on Google for "crx exhaust". You'll find dozens of mufflers for EF/CRX.

well im not looking for a universal muffler...like i said im looking for a tanabe hyper medalion style muffler which i think is called the type H style. Ebay has so many mufflers...but theyre all the cheap N1 rip off style which im not interested in.

just to follow up: Did the google search and only found brand new Tanabe super medalions...or stock mufflers..i have a SS 2.25 system so i need somthing for that. See the reason im asking this is because I see tons of CRXs on this forum discussing exhausts and i hear people say oh i got this muffler for 60 bucks or whatever..and i just wonder am i not looking in the right places?

Just go to your local autoparts store and get a dynomax or whatever decent muffler they have there and some sort of chepo resonator. Then go to an exhuast shop and have them bend you up pipes and weld it togeather it shouldnt cost more then a few hundred and is by far your best bang for the buck option

I have Invidia exhaust on my car right now its not raspy but its not horribly loud but its not quiet either i love the sound. All my car has done is a short ram and mpfi with the cat back (all of my money is going to my h22 build so im not buying stuff for it that i wont need later) and i love the sound

Your not going to find a Muffler like you want, all the universals you can buy will sound like a fart can with way to much rasp. You can only get a good brand name muffler with the cat-back it's attached to, they do that for a reason. I say just sale your exhaust and get the whole Tanabe cat-back or get the GReddy like I just got and you will never regret it (the GReddy is quiter than Tanabe but sounds awesome at WOT). Check these 2 exhausts threads for some pic references. besides, you will be much happier with a High quality cat-back than a system you just put together

Here is a good EF exhaust thread
https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=1083089

and this is my GReddy exhaust thread.

Not stupid, in fact, read my how-to. I just did a stock muffler replacement thing 2 weeks ago.
