Did you check radio backup fuse under the hood?

In the under hood fuse box, behind the batt.. probably a 7.5A fuse.

What is the make and model of HU you are installing?

What year is your car? 94

If you're using a wiring harness adapter, just match color to color. The orange and red wires do NOT go together... Or, you can do what I do and pull the illumination wire out of the harness adapter and cap the one coming from the deck...

Also, if your radio fuse is blowing when you put it in, you have a short to ground on the constant power wire. Check your wiring...

Then pull the orange wires from the harness adapter (or cap them if you can't pull them out).
