Default Clutch Question

First off I would like to introduce myself, I have recently joined the ranks and I am a proud owned of an AP1. The car has given me great pleasure and it’s been exciting learning how to drive it. I am a former owner of 2 SR20 powered S-13s and a 300ish AWHP DSM. I have decided to go w/ the S2000 because of its reliability and better street manners not to mention A/C . I live near the mountains of western North Carolina. And can quite often be found on some of the more famous roads in the area. This coming season I plan to do as many track events as possible and maybe a few auto crosses, so I look forward to meeting some of you.
That said, I have a question concerning the clutch system. The car is equipped with and exedy stage 3 clutch and the engagement point only occupies about 10% of the pedal throw, the pedal also releases very quickly and it makes driving in high traffic areas a PITA. Have any of you had any success w/ removing the clutch damper box (if there is one) also In past searches I have seen the AP2 slave cylinder engages slower, is this true and is it possible to change it? Any help would be appreciated.

Marshall

the engagement point is about the same on mine. i have no idea on how to remove the damper box. my suggestion is just to get used to it. i live in LA where traffic is 1000x worse than what you have.

yes it is a bit annoying but it would be about the same anyways in traffic if you did remove the box.

All you have to do is swap in an AP1 slave cylinder. The clutch damper is an integral part of the AP2 slave cylinder.
