Default oily spark plug?

ok i was cheking my spark plugs today and all four had a little bit of oil on the outside. one in particular had a lot of oil on it. it was actually drenched in it. *** soon as i took of the plug 2 get the spark plug out i noticed the ouil. after i took out the spark plug i noticed a lot of oil. i dont think this is normal.

What could have caused this. a bad gasket?

Yeah a bad gasket there are little like doughnut gaskets I guess you would call them around each sparck plug hole. They come in the box when you buy a new valve cover gasket.

if those upper plug seals on the valve cover do not fix it, you need to replace the lower seals on the bottom of rocker arm assembly

there are 4 seals on the inside part of valve cover gasket,, once you remove it and flip it over you ill know what i am talking about,,,,,,replce those seals , install a new valve cover gasket as well.. put all together ...
if that does not fix the problem then you got to replace the lower rocker arm seals

Here is the link you will be needing sooner or later. (after you try the valve cover gasket doughnuts, and it still leaks). Good luck.

What will you damage? It would take a while to actually damage anything (besides plugs and wires, from being oil soaked), but.....The orings will only get worse. The oil will eventually get high enough to short out the plugs/wires (makes the engine miss something awful) Then every time you pull out the plugs, the oil is going into the cylinders where it has to be burned away. My suggestion is to either blow the oil out, or suck the oil out (as much as possible) without removing the plugs, and letting it go into the cylinders. If you have compressed air, you can hold a rag over the top of the hole to catch the oil as it is blown out. Or do what I did, and tape a vacuum hose (small enough to get around the sides of the plug) over the end of a shopvac hose and try to suck it out from around the spark plug. Until you can get the orings changed out. Good luck with it.
