compression test results
i just did a compression test on my 01 lude. cylinder 1 and 2 has no compression. cylinder 3 and 4 was like a 100 or something. in that past i have mishifted before but haven't in awhile. later on down the road like a year later the car started to have misfiring problem. thought is was my ignition change all those out still misfire. i have a dead miss on 1 and 2, also on cold morning car would have a very hard time starting. would this be the symptoms of bent valves? also i have notice an incredible loss of power.
somethings fucked.
1 and 2 are dead.............
3-4 have 100????
damn. You really did expletive something up. I think if your valves were bent - you'd still have higher compression than what you have.
Don't drive your car like that. Pull it apart and see whats wrong.
Its kinda like you have a blown headgasket through the center..............like it split in half - that way, it would connect all of the cylinders together........and you'd have no compression.
But I don't think thats likely.
Check your piston rings..........
also, get a 5-gas analyzer. Open up your oil cap, and hold it there. Try to start the engine - and see if it picks up any exhaust. If it does, you either have a blown headgasket where the oil ports are, or something's wrong with your pistons.
You can also do that test on your radiator - just hold it on top of the filler neck(with the cap off) and see. You could also have a crack in the headgasket where the water jacket is.

i'm taking it apart tonight i went ahead and got a used cylinder head, new headgasket, and seals etc. some people have told me its either my headgasket is blown or i have bent valves. coudn't determine which to go with so i decided to go ahead and replace both. how could i tell if there is anything wrong with like my piston and rings. would a leak down test give me the results of those or would it just determine if my valves are leak. also when the car warms up the miss isn't that noticable only at first start up.
yea the leak down tester would be the best test you could do. if the intake valve is bent you will have air flowing out of the intake (throttle body). if the exhaust valve is bent you will have air flowing out of the exhaust pipe. if you melted a hole in your piston your engine would most likely not be running and you would have air flowing into the crankcase and out of the dipstick tube/oil fill cap (remove cap before you test). however, if the head gasket was bad i'm not sure where you would hear the air coming from. because you run the test when the cylinder is on tdc compression stroke. all the air would flow into the other cylinder and depending on where the valves were it could flow out to iether the intake or exhaust or both. since you know you have 0psi compression you dont really need to use a cylinder leak tester you could just an air gun nozzle thingy just dont open up 90 psi of compressed air into your engine.
