Dashpots

the first one stops the throttle blade from slaping closed instanly, it softens it and holds it open for a split second then closes it when you let off the gas, the 2nd i dont know for shure what it does but there both vacuum dashpots

Is that some unknown African language?

The first dashpot is also found on the B16, and I have removed mine without any noticable side effects.

I took that off my stock intake when I got my B16. I tapped it and put a bolt in it.

smear a **** tone of grease on the tape before you start, and that will catch most of the shavings, then just blow the rest out through the TB with air

I put the shop vac hose right into the manifold. It got most of the shavings. But if the motor is out of the car I would just take it off. I had mine in the car when I realized it wasnt needed.
