What to look for in a used Clutch?
Somone is selling a used ACT street/strip clutch for $25 and was just wondering what I need to look for to see if it's good or not. He's said "the pp has burn spots...but the disk still has life.."
Here are some camera fone pictures for now, he said he would send me better ones later on tonight.

You won't be able to tell how much abuse it's taken until you start your car and drive it around. Much more intelligent to get a brand new one.

yeah man, as a rule of thumb do not part used parts that have wear life, like dont buy used brake pads, clutches, fuils etc. even though they "look" fine or have plenty of life left you have no idea what he did to them

check the stop pins...if they've been completely wiped out then the owner of that clutch has been driving on that clutch hard...check the thickness of the disc see if its in spec of the manufacter,,check pressure plate for warpage with a str8 edge and feeler gauge.

exactly.
as long as you buy a good condition clutch, it will still work. A clutch is a clutch. It will probobly grip a hella lot better when new but when you get a pretty good deal and it's in good condition then it will work fine.
