advancing motor to high?
sup guys,
i was just wondering what would advancing your motor to much do damage wise. i know advancing your timing puts stress on the rods,because they work against the force,but i have forged rods,and forged pistons,so could they take it?. i want to advance the motor as much as i can,because i know the more you advance,the more power you get. also if it helps my motor is a b18b with forged pistons/rods,turboed on soon to be 15pounds (10 right now).

What EMS are you running? What sized turbo?
Being turbo you really shouldn't be advancing the timing.
I'll have a mod move this to FI.

well i was going to post in FI,but it really doesnt do much with FI,so i posted in the civic forum
but im running uberdata,on 10 pounds now,15 in a cuple weeks. what would advancing the timing hurt? even with forged internals,would it still putt a killing on my motor? and if anyone knows then,and if advancing is bad,what should my timing be at? ive heard 16*btdc +/- 2*. true? what should i be at since im boosted?

It has everything to do with FI.
Advancing timing on a turbo car presents the problem of igniting the fuel before the piston/rod is in the correct position.
