S2K Maintenance
I recently bought an 02 Silverstone, Charcoal interior AP1 and was wondering if anyone could help me out by suggesting a regular maintenance schedule for S2K's. My last car was a 2004 Corvette and I don't really know much about the difference in maintenance. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
as long as you have jack stands.. you can do the fluid changes yourself in your garage... .. you'll need a syringe type thing to put the fluid into the diff...
the valve adjustment is the same as other cars... but you might want someone that knows what they are doing to do that for you...

i did mine...just go to pep boys and buy a fluid pump...
let the dealor do the valves, or go to a tech who knows what is up...

The S2K is one of the easiest cars to maintain. You can do all the routine maintenance yourself with some minor tools.
Oil changes every 3-5K miles (always use the correct Honda Filter or Mobil 1...no others!). Use a good oil (synthetic is always a good idea).
Change the differential fluid every 30K miles using LE-607!! DON'T USE ANYTHING ELSE AND NEVER GO TO HONDA TO HAVE IT DONE - they will use the wrong gear oil! Bad for your diff!
Change the tranny fluid every 10-15K miles or once every 30K miles if you don't drive hard, never have any grinding or never use VTEC or redline the car. I've had no problem with Honda MTF, but Redline MT is good too. I've changed mine at 6K, 14K and 20K and their was no difference...so I changed it more than necessary.
Change the stock air filter at 15K or 30K miles. Better yet, get a K&N drop in filter and clean as needed.
Change tires as needed. Get a good alignment and good tires, and they will last 20-30K easy.
The valves only need to be adjusted if your car is making funny noises or giving other indications that it could be the valves. Let someone experienced do that.
Otherwise, drive for 105K miles before needing to change spark plugs, adjusting valves and checking belts/hoses.
No need to change the timing chain.

I appreciate all the posts guys, and Im sure I will be getting as much knowledge as possible from you guys seeing as how Im still a N00B to the site and to the S2K
A little off topic last night some jack **** in a rodeo slowed down and got right next to me and started revvin of course he does this on a street thats turns from two lanes to one. He was literally trying to run me off the road. So of course i dropped it in second and hit 9000 instantly and couldn't even seee the guy in my rear view when it was all said and done. Point of the story is that S2K definately draw a lot of attention. I never even got that kind of attention when I drove a Corvette. The S2K is definately growing on me.
