Carbon fiber question
I am going to get my CF hood painted very soon. But before starting to get quotes from painters, I wanted to get some opinions on how much painting this thing will cost. Also, what steps may I be able to take to cut down on the cost?
Any help/opinions would be greatly appreciated!

as far as a price...i honestly dont really know, but what u could do to cut down on the cost is to prep the hood urself before sending it out for paint (i.e. wet sand and primer)
I already have the carbon. have had it for a while. it would be a waste to buy another hood. so i might as well paint the one ive got.
it has oxidized enough to either need to refinish or paint it, and im dropping the CF look. so I decided to paint it.

The hood and bumper doesn't really match the colour of the rest of the car..

im concerned with the weight, and the underside of the hood looks pretty sweet. if that makes any sense at all.
also, I dont have stock colors on my car, so I'd have to paint an oem hood to adapt it to my color anyways

It's your car, do whatever makes you happy. I just thought I'd throw that out there.

i had mine painted over because the cf kept fading.
dont listen to what others are saying. oem hood is heavy, and obviously u got the lighter one for a reason. stick with it, paint it, put it on. it will look good either way.
that yellow integra looks really good. for someone to say the paint doesnt match is just dumb. look at the car in person, then decide. and either way, who the hell cares? is it a show car?

did you see where it said that I painted the bumper AND the hood (thats where the $250 came in)?and its pheonix yellow. Lots of sanding, and priming. Thats what took the longest. I am fortunate enough to have a spray booth, and a nice gun. I also painted my friends bike plastics at the same time.
I'm going to be painting my hood too. CF is rice if it's not painted.
I'm going to wet sand my hood so it can look DRY, then when i spray. i'm going to thin the paint, the layer of paint will be ultra thin so the cf pathern will be seen through -if looking hard enough. Just like the Ferrari. f430
my cf hood is still very new.
