Default hytech exhaust rattle, what have you done?

I've had 2 hytech exhausts, both designs a little different where the b-pipe meets the axle-back...

Sometimes I can hear the muffler banging against the underside of the trunk... and then sometimes, it's the hanger that's attached to the b-pipe rattling against hanger that is on the car itself (Location: where the smaller rubber hanger is located).

Am I the only one that has this problem? If you've had this problem and have come up with a solution, please share.

Try bending the hangers above the rear axle to move the exhaust away from potential rattle points.

I've had mine on for a few months now and still no rattles. Everything I've heard about people fixing their rattles though involved bending the hangers like 92TypeR suggested.

The hangers that were on my car that I was not utilizing I simply dremeled off because if this same exact reason. No more rattle.

Are you referring to the hangers that are attached to the b-pipe or the car?

Bend the hangers a bit, or hammer the heat shield above the B-pipe, mine rattled a bit there at first.

I had the same issue where the canister of the muffler was vibrating underneath the car during idle. Basically I took a 3 ft. hollow bar, put it over the muffler hangers and the rear B-pipe hanger and bent them upwards. Problem fixed.

I'm not visualizing what you're explaining here...

Basically you'll want to bend the hangers to give the exhaust more clearance from whatever it's touching. I used a bar just to gain leverage on the hangers so I could bend them or more accurately tweak the hangers. This provided the extra few mm of clearance I needed to stop the canister from hitting the underside of the car.

he's talking about bending the hangers on the muffler up slightly.

Ok thx. I wasn't sure if he was referring to the hangers on the car or the muffer.

Did this fix the muffler canister hitting the underside of the trunk when driving through rough terrain? For example, city roads?

Yes. Before I fixed the issue, I would hear a thud from the canister hitting the underside of the car whenever I went over speed bumps/potholes. I no longer have this issue.

Perfect. Thanks Eva01. It's kinda sad that I have to mess with an exhaust system that cost me over 2k and months of waiting... but you gotta do what you gotta do I guess...

Well you have to remember that each of these exhausts are made by hand. Taking that into consideration, I'm not suprised that it may take a minor amount of adjustment to get them to fit just right. Despite the price, I think the Hytech system is definately worth it because it truly is a high quality piece. I think after you get this glitch fixed you will be more than satisfied!
