Default Exhaust scrapes ground! (searched)

I have the skunk2 catback system. The piece with the resonator is really close to the ground. It scrapes the ground everytime I go over a bump or anything like that. I am trying to get this fixed before I destroy the resonator. Has anyone else had this issue with this exhaust or any other exhaust and how did you fix the problem.

Yes, I scrape, but I don't care. Raise your car higher and you won't have a problem, unless you want to cut off your resonator or don't mind scraping.

I hate the scraping. Sometimes its so bad it sounds like its going to rip my exhaust off. The only idea I have is to take it to a muffler shop and have them cut the hangers on the resonator section shorter... Any other fixes besides that??

Go very slow and at an angle. But, cutting the hangers would be a very good idea.

Yeah that's the only real way around it...

That only works for low profile cars where you don't want the sideskirts to get trashed on a speed bump or something, with an exhaust, it's different, because it's more centered, and it seeing as it's as long as the car, taking it on an angle won't have the same affect..

The thing is the exhaust would be ok if it didnt go down at such an angle. The front section is good and the rear section is good. For some reason the middle is messed up. Ill take a pic so you guys can see how retarded it is.

angling your car works to an extent on bumps. It worked for a week for me, but when I started going on higher bumps, it scraped slightly. I just backroad around the speed bumps.

I cant even pull into my own driveway. That pisses me off. Mabye I put the mid section on upside down. Hmm I wonder if that is possible. This is the first time that has even crossed my mind. Nvm exhaust hangers only go one way.

Just don't drive fast over speed bumps, and if you ever come across a dip in the road while you are driving, have fun.

from the looks of it, there isnt even a hanger. but try rotating around the bolts and see if that helps.

you definately need to have short brackets welded on there..anybody that'd good w/ a torch can do it...

and no, taking it on an angle wouldn't do anything, the purpose of that is to lift the opposite side up so it has clearance ,when ur talkign something down the middle (or almost down the middle), it's right in the middle...it's like the focal point of the pitch chnage when u take a speed bump on an angle, it'd go up, but no consideralbe difference :-\

dude, did you put your midpipe upside down? mine was like that with my buddyclub exhaust, then i had brought it to the muffler shop and they pointed it out. so i turned it around and then it stood up ALOT higher.

Wow, Ive got the same exhaust on my EH2 & it hangs nowhere near that low... Mine tucks right up nicely in the stock tunnel. I would sugget cutting the hangars, and re-bending them IMO. Mebe you got it for the wrong model car?

thats what happened when i tried to put my midsection on of my WS2, looked way outta wack, then my friend said maybe its upside down, i was like no it cant be.

after screwing with it for an hour, we took it off, flipped it around and it fit prefect. i bet that ur problem

my ef has the same prob I thought about taking it to a shop and having the resinator removed. I hate to do that though, I just bought it about 3 mos. ago. I don't think that I'm gonna go w/ skunk2 exhaust for my eg, maybe rs-r or something along that line. It does look like your missing some hangers in the center section, and maybe you could spin the resinator. Just climb under your car take a closer look at things.
