is my clutch going?
in the morning i get in my car, put my foot on the clutch, then i start itup, but it does not turn over, then i would release the clutch pedal, press on it again and then it'll work. it'll work the first time 25% of the time but nowadays it's getting to be 3-4 times. it use to be just two times. what's wrong?! is my clutch going? it's a slippery clutch but oh well. just like to know.
look at the top of your pedal assembly (you will need a flashlight cause its crammed all the way up under the dash)...... basically at the top of the clutch pedal there is a part that depresses a pushbutton switch(its a plastic cylinder shaped thing about an inch and a half long)...the switch itself threads into the pedal assembly and is secured by a lock nut.
it may not be that the switch is bad but that it needs to be threaded further into the bracket to make better contact when you are pushing you clutch in.
put your car in NEUTRAL and crawl under there and push the button with your finger, then have a friend try and start the car. if it works every time then it is likely that you only have to adjust the switch rather than replace it

its gotta be the switch. my ls was doing that for a couple of weeks and then wouldn't start at all. i knew the clutch was good cause i just replaced it like 4 months before. the car is a 94 and switches like to go out on older cars.
