I have a 2000 Si w/ B16. It's been raining crazy here this past day or so. I doubt this could be realated. I turned on the a/c to defog the interior of my windshield and it sounded loud. It's not the fan because when I turned the a/c off it was fine. I have never heard this noise before and it only happens when I turn the a/c on. An ideas? I already searched on "a/c"...turns up nada.

 

your a/c compressor is probaly shot and the berings in side are toast or i would check the belt to make sure it doesnt have a borken cord or something

 

belt looks fine. Still tight it seems and not too tight. Atl least there is some play in the belt. I don't see how it can work one day and then use it again the following week and it acts up. Damn machines.

Thanks for the info. I'll take it to a shop just to see if it's an obvious problem. At least it is still winter and I don't need it everyday.
