just did a b16a obd1 swap into my eg.... when the car is cold the speedo works, but when it gets warm it stops working completely and vtec will not work it sounds like a 2 step msd as soon as it engages and wont rev past 6k rpm. i checked the vehicle speed sensor its all plugged in and tight. any ideas??????????

Could be a bad speed sensor. Are you throwing a code?

 

just o2 sensor,.... my boy said it might be the dizzy. is that a possibility?

 

i know that if it was your dizzy your tach would be jumping like crazy. i know this sounds stupid but check your grounds. i had a similar problem where my speedo wouldnt work, turned out to be a couple of loose grounds from the engine.

 

i'm thinkin' faulty VSS on this one.

 

i've got roughly the same problem. since a b16 swap and gsr tranny, my speedo works sometimes, doesnt others.... and doesnt like to work for about 10 miles once the car was on, and speedo working, then shut off.

check all your harness connections, plugs and everything, makes sure they are clean. my tach used to jump around or not work, but once the connectors were clean, its been working 100% since.
