Default Spoon computer chip

Hey,
So I have been serching around on the internet and i found what looks to be like a very good deal. It is a spoon computer chip that removes the governer, while re-maping the timing and fuel curves. It says it will gain about 7-10hp. It will also raise the redline to around 8200. This lookes like and awsome part and I was just wondering if anyone here has installed the same part or if it would be worth it. Also, Iam getting a catback exaust soon, does the brand really matter, I mean seriousally its just some pipe with flanges and a cheap muffler. Please shead some light on this. I really wanna know....!

Thanks,
Scott

I saw something similar on ebay, a "spoon" computer that would redline the motor at 8500 and engage the vtec at 2500rpm.
It would cost just a little more than 300 bucks, and was wondering if it could be true?
Also, if I regrind the camshaft for more power while using this new computer, will I be destroying my f22 or pushing it to its mechanical limits???
Please let me know!!

personally, I would go with a good computer, not one of the cheap ones I was looking at. And I dont know if this is a joke messing with me, but if you are serious about the camshaft there are tons that are manufactured that are much better with more agressive lobe set-ups (higher duration more lift). Check that out maybe?

if it sounds too good to be true, then it is. that's all you have to remember.

these little engines aren't going to make any more power without serious work, that's all there is too it. these "10-15 hp increase!" products you see everywhere, if they work, will gain you maybe .5hp... that is, if they don't destroy whatever they're changing in the first place.

redline at 8200 on a stock accord motor will kill it the first time it revs that high

dont waste your money, buy a p28 for $150 and chip it with uberdata, and dont get your vtec set at 2500 rpm, damn that engine would be hella slow and no pull. You could get advanced timeing to get some more power but that ups the chances of detonation.

the only thing that "spoon" chip will do is mess up your air/fuel settings. they are bogus and not worht the money.

daaaanm... ya'll... is it really that bad?!
My friend was telling me that the "computer spoon" would actually "tell" the engine to work much more powerful, and I was like... "how could it rev up to 8k rpm with the computer when the engine is set to redline at 6200rpm???"
anyway... ....camshaft sounds like a better deal for now.... lol

So, members.... how much could I advance the cam gear? Maybe 5 degrees or is that too much?
I daily drive the car... and I push it to 5800 to 6000rpm a few times a day (everyday!!)...
Any advice on advancing it? How far could I go under these driving conditions that I've mentioned?
Thanks in advance by the way!!!

What about the cat-back? Everyone focused on the non-spoon chip...lol

I ask cuz I am lookin on eBay for a complete exhaust from the 4/2/1 header the whole way back to the muffler...

i would NOT alter timing. 5 degrees of advance will lead to great immedaite response off the line, pinging at midrange when you step on it, and loos of power on the top end.

how does setting the vtec to near stock make it slower?
